NEW HORIZONS

Prize Money: €1,000, donated by inlingua Ingolstadt

Starting afresh in a new country can be a challenge. How you are received often depends on your identity, what you look and sound like, and how you are perceived by others. Relocation can leave people feeling uprooted and alone, but it can also bring new opportunities for growth and unexpected, positive encounters. For the New Horizons Film Award, we are looking for films that explore the themes of exploration, arrival, isolation, shifting identity and new experiences within the context of foreign countries, cultures and languages.

Submitted films must be no longer than 20:59 minutes, including opening and closing credits.
The organizers reserve the right to move submissions to other competitions and sections.
