Short films from all over the world. Oscar®, BAFTA and EFA qualifying festival.

Opening submissions: May 1, 2024
Earlybird deadline: September 1, 2024 11 EUR
Regular deadline: October 1, 2024 13 EUR
Final deadline: November 1, 2024 15 EUR
Notification of results: January 31, 2025

Requirements:
1) Films completed after: 1st of January 2023 or later
2) Maximum duration: 30 min (including credits)
3) Country of production: All countries
4) Screening format: Digital File (Apple ProRes 422 or H.264), DCP
5) Accepted genres: all genres
Other criteria:
6) Completed films: (working copies accepted ONLY if agreed with the festival before submitting)
7) English subtitles: preview and screening copy must be in or subtitled in English

JURIES AND PRIZES
The festival will nominate an International Jury consisting of five members. The following prizes will be given to the director of the awarded films:
▪ Grand Prix: 5000 € and Festival Trophy “Kiss” for the best film in the competition
▪ three Category Prizes; fiction, animation, documentary: each 1500 € and Festival Trophy “Kiss”
▪ Special Mentions
▪ EFA Tampere Candidate according to the regulations set by the European Film Academy
▪ Audience Award
In addition to the prizes mentioned above and with the approval of the festival, it is also possible for other organizations and associations to award films in the International Competition.

NATIONAL COMPETITION
|
National Competition for Finnish directors or Finnish productions/co-productions.
Films under 30 min will automatically also take part to the preselection of International Competition.

JURIES AND PRIZES
The festival will nominate the National Jury consisting of three members. The following prizes will be given to the film directors:
▪ Main Prize: 5000 € and Festival Trophy “Kiss”
▪ Special Prizes 1500 €
▪ Special Mentions
▪ Audience Award
Prize of the Youth Jury will be given in series for under 30 minutes. In addition to the prizes mentioned above and with the approval of the festival, it is also possible for other organizations and associations to award films in the National Competition.

JURIES AND PRIZES
Selected films will be showcased at the 2025 Tampere Film Festival and judged by an independent jury. The following prizes will be given to the film directors:
▪ Main Prize: 2000 €
▪ Special Mentions
▪ Audience Award
In addition to the prizes mentioned above and with the approval of the festival, it is also possible for other organizations and associations to award films in the Generation XYZ Competition.
