NATIONAL COMPETITION

The Festival " Sur les pas de mon oncle " aims to promote the young generation of filmmakers and reveal talent. The selected short films will be broadcasted to an audience of both amateurs and professionals, in addition to competing for several prizes awarded by a jury.
The Short Film Festival "Sur les pas de mon oncle" is organized by the City of Saint-Maur-des-Fosses with the cooperation of some public and private partners.
The sixteenth edition of the Festival will take place from October the 4th to the 6th, 2019 at Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. In case of problems independent of our will, the Festival reserves the right to cancel or change the dates of the event.


Opening submissions: April 23, 2020
Final deadline: July 19, 2020 Free
Notification of results: September 11, 2020


Preview format:
-Uploaded file (1 stamp)

Requirements:
1) Films completed after: January 1, 2019
2) Maximum duration: 15 minutes (including credits)
3) Country of production: France
4) Screening format: DCP
5) Accepted genres: All genres

Other criteria:
6) Age: Filmmakers have to be aged from 12 to 30. A proof (ID Card, passport) must to be sent to the festival by email for the proper validation of the submission.
7) Amateur: Films must be made in a "amateur" framework. This term refers to films financed by the team shooting itself or via a crowdfunding system, as well as films made as part of an initial or ongoing training (film school - college, high school, etc)


The results of the pre-selection will be sent by mail or e-mail to participants no later than September 6th, 2019`.

The Prizes awarded are:
- Grand Prix of the Festival: 2000 (two thousand) euros to the director and a Festival trophy;
- Jury Prize: 1000 (one thousand) Euros to the director and a Festival trophy;
- Best screenplay: 1000 (one thousand) euros to the writer and a Festival trophy;
- People’s choice Award: 800 (eight hundred) Euros to the director and a Festival trophy;
- Lido de Saint-Maur Award: 600 (six hundred) euros to the director Saint-Mauryan and a Festival trophy;
- Young Director Award: 300 (three hundred) Euros to the director (or college / school / association and workshop described below) and a Festival trophy;
- Best Actor Award: 400 (four hundred) Euros to the performer and a Festival trophy;
- Best Actress Award: 400 (four hundred) Euros to the performer and a Festival trophy;
- Best Editor Award: 300 (three hundred) euros Editor and a Festival trophy;
- Best Sound Award: 300 (three hundred) euros Sound ingeneer and a Festival trophy;
- Best Cinematography Award: 300 (three hundred) euros Director of photography and a Festival trophy;
- Best Original Sound Track Award: 300 (three hundred) euros Composer and a Festival trophy;
- Best selection committee : a trophy Festival.


Endowments and additional prizes may be awarded.
In the event that a film is co-directed, one of the directors must be designated during the registration as "Principal director". If the film is a winner of one of the awards, the "principal director" will be the only one to receive the grants made by the Festival, the distribution of those grants with his or her co-director (s) then is under their own responsibility. The Festival will not be held responsible of the sharing arrangements between the co-directors.
This applies even if several people have contributed to the creation of the film (several writers, several editors ...).

Filmmakers residing in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés’ twin towns (see list below) can submit a film to this specific section.

4) Screening format: DCP
5) Accepted genres: All genres

Other criteria:
6) Amateur framework: Films must be made in a "amateur" framework. This term refers to films financed by the team shooting itself or via a crowdfunding system, as well as films made as part of an initial or on going training (film school - college, high school, etc)
7) Age: Filmmakers have to be aged from 12 to 30. A proof (ID Card, passport) must to be send to the festival by email for the proper validation of the submission.
8) non-professionnal: Films must be made by a non-professional crew. This term refers to films financed by the crew itself or via a crowd funding system, as well as films made as part of an initial or continuing training (film school - college, high school, university, etc. , workshop ...) or by an association.
