OFFICIAL COMPETITION

The tenth edition of the Jouy-en-Josas "L'ombre d'un court" International Short-Film Festival is organised by Les Films Avenir.

The festival is open to all French and international short films. All films in a language other than French must have optional subtitles in French for preview copies. If the film is selected, the subtitles are required for a screening copy.

A panel of professionals and the audience will issue several awards (Jury award, audience award, best film, best director, best actor, best screenplay, best music, best poster).


Opening submissions: June 1, 2018
Final deadline: September 30, 2018 Free
Notification of results: January 10, 2019


Preview format:
-Uploaded file (1 stamp)

Requirements:
1) Films completed after: September 16, 2016
2) Maximum duration: 20 minutes (including credits)
3) Country of production: All countries
4) Screening format: Digital file: .Mov, Mp4, Mpeg (ProRes or H.264, 1920x1080)
5) Accepted genres: Live-action, animated short films, experimental and video clips

Other criteria:
6) Not accepted genres: Documentary films, adverts, trailer and web-serie.
7) Preview copies: All films in a language other than French must have optional subtitles in French for preview copies and screening copies.





STRANGE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION – GENRE FILMS

Section opened to international films respecting the next thematic: fantastic, suspense, thriller, horror, fantasy, science-fiction, anguish, terror, surnatural, fear, detective fiction, magic, mystery, zombies.

The festival is open to all French and international short films. All films in a language other than French must have optional subtitles in French for preview copies. If the film is selected, the subtitles are required for a screening copy.

CHILDREN’S COMPETITION

Section opened to international films must be aimed to children or young audiences (5 to 12 years old).

The audience is invited to award a children’s prize.

This competition is open to all French and international short films. All films in a language other than French must have optional subtitles in French for preview copies. If the film is selected, the subtitles are required for a screening copy.
