SHORT DOCUMENTARY AWARD

FIPADOC, the international documentary film festival, is held annually in Biarritz.

FIPADOC is the first event on the circuit of major international documentary festivals each year. In 2024, over eight days, it will bring members of the public and professionals together for screenings of a selection of outstanding documentary films. Hosting meet‑and‑greets and premiering new projects, FIPADOC is committed to promoting innovation, image appreciation, and new talent.

The short film documentary Award grants 3,000€ the best international or french film with a running time of 20 minutes or less.


Opening submissions: June 6, 2023
Final deadline: October 13, 2023 12 EUR
Notification of results: December 22, 2023


Preview format:
-Uploaded file (1 stamp)

Requirements:
1) Films completed after: December, 1st 2022
2) Maximum duration: 20 mn maximum
3) Country of production: French and International
4) Screening format: DCP, ProRes
5) Accepted genres: Documentary Films

Other criteria:
6) Non exclusive: A film already screened in another french or international film festival remains eligible to the FIPADOC selection. We won't select short films already broadcasted in France on television or distributed in cinemas.
7) Subtitles: Films may be submitted in the original-language with English and/or French subtitles.
8) Maximum length of movie: Films longer than 20 minutes will not be taken into account.


We don't pay screening fees.





NEW TALENT (SCHOOL FILMS AWARD)

New Talent Competition: films created by directors as part of their studies or training programs, are eligible for this competition. Films must have a duration of less than 60 minutes and © 2022 or © 2023. There are no requirements regarding their premiere status. Films in this competition are eligible for New talent Award and the Tënk Award.

6) Non exclusive: The criteria "having never been screened or broadcast" does not apply
7) Subtitles: Films may be submitted in the original language with English and/or French subtitles.
8) Maximum length of movie: Films longer than 60 minutes will not be taken into account;
