INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

The International Competition of the Dinan Short Films Festival is open to short fiction films produced after January 1, 2023 in one of the member countries of the French-speaking world. The maximum length of a film is 25 minutes. Films must be in French or in their original language with French subtitles. They must include dialogue and not be silent (a soundtrack alone will not be considered as containing dialogue). Please note that French films are excluded from this competition and must be submitted to the National Competition.

Final deadline: June 15, 2024 10 EUR
Notification of results: October 15, 2024

Requirements:
1) Films completed after: 1st January 2023
2) Maximum duration: 25 mins
3) Country of production: The festival only accepts films made in French-speaking countries* Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Armenia, Belgium, Benin, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Comoros, Congo, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Dominica, Egypt, Macedonia, France, Gabon, Ghana, Greece, Guinea, Haiti, Laos, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Moldova, Monaco, Morocco, Niger, Romania, Rwanda, Saint Lucia, Sao Tomé and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Switzerland, Chad, Togo, Tunisia, Vanuatu, Vietnam. The following observer countries or states are also accepted: Argentina, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Canada-Ontario, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Gambia, Georgia, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Louisiana, Malta, Mexico, Montenegro, Mozambique, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Thailand, Ukraine, Uruguay.
4) Screening format: Digital content package
5) Accepted genres: Fiction

6) AWARDS: Prizes in all categories will be awarded to the winning films and to the directors. The total running time of the film must be less than 25 minutes (including credits).
Particular attention will be paid to the sound aspect of the films to ensure good listening quality. Be sure to use royalty-free music.
Films must be in French.
The list of selected films will be available on the festival website on October 15, 2024.





FRENCH COMPETITION

The National Competition of the Dinan Short Films Festival is open to French-language short fiction films produced in France. Our selection committee will choose around twenty French-language films. All films must be professionally produced. They must also include an acting performance assessed by a jury of professional directors and casters. Please note that French-language films produced outside France are not eligible for this competition and must be submitted to the International Competition.

Notification of results: October 15, 2024

EMERGENCE COMPETITION

The Emergence competition welcomes French and international self-produced short fiction films. Our selection committee will choose around ten films. All entrants must present an acting performance evaluated by a jury of professional directors and cast members. First films are encouraged and their mention is appreciated.
